Mentawai Dream Surf Sculpture Gerry Lopez by Dave C Reynolds

This piece is called "Mentawai Dream". Inspired by the casual surf style of surf legend Gerry Lopez. I sculpted this while I was on a surf trip in the Mentawai's. Check out the pic of me under my mosquito net at night sculpting this. This sculpture was presented to the President of Tahiti by the International Surfing Association. Stands 10" high. Sculpture is 5"x7". Has an actual bronze metal coating on the front. Looks exactly like a solid bronze casting at a fraction of the price. Mounted above a custom wood  block with Shou Sugi Ban Japanese wood treatment done to it. A wood burning technique that leaves the raised and unique wood grains you see. Satin finish on base. As you can see I have utilized my world class surf trophy designs and skills to produce these.  Limited to 100 castings. Each piece is signed and numbered on the back. You also get a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
