Laguna Beach Surfers' Chess Set by Dave C Reynolds

I love the Laguna Beach vibe. Incredible coastlines, rolling hills, incredible marine life and lots of awesome artists! This is my Deluxe Laguna Beach Surfers' Chess Set. Each chess piece is weighted and made from hand resin cast and wood. Felt underside. The king is the Big Kahuna of this set, he stands 8 1/2 inches high. Designed to look like a vintage wood surfboard from the 40's.The Queen is a beauty. The sleek surfboard is made from curly koa wood with a hand painted lei, she is 7 1/2 inches high. The Bishop is the famous Laguna Tower, the tower stands 5 1/2 inches high. The Knight is a woody surf wagon with surfboards on top, 3 inches high. The Rook is the Laguna Beach Main Beach lifeguard tower, 2 1/2 inches high. The Pawns are skimboards on a pile of rocks, 3 1/2 inches high. The chess board is made from bamboo panel mounted on a set of 20 inch hairpin legs. The top is made from mahogany and birch 2 inch squares. This set comes with an acrylic top. Total height is 30 inches. Each set comes with a custom vintage look wood chest and a signed Certificate of Authenticity. Is this a game? Is it art? Is is a cool conversation piece? I say YES!!
